George did an excellent job to fix our dishwasher. It’s difficult to get the machine out for inspection. He was patient. Turned out the problem was with the drain. He also cleaned it. I’m very happy to have fully functional dishwasher again. Five stars to George.

Fantastic service. We had a problem with a Bosch refrigerator. We were afraid that we had to throw it out. Henry diagnosed it as a defrost heater issue. He quickly fixed it and saved our refrigerator and a lot of money. Very fast, professional, and experienced service. I highly recommend them.

Henry B was great. Came out the day after I sent my request. Ordered the part and was back 2 days after he came out. Thorough job. And so happy to have a dryer that has heat again! Would definitely use again!

Henry was awesome! He came out late on a Friday, diagnosed the issue, and then when our parts came in made sure everything was fixed and tested.

Don't do it. Everything started out great. Good communication, fast response, updates, seemed knowledgeable. But what I learned was all they do is replace parts. The diagnostic is basic stuff you can find on the internet. They replaced parts, took my $700, then ghosted me once I informed them the "fix" did not fix anything. From that point on it was like pulling teeth trying to get anyone to respond and set new schedules to continue troubleshooting. Finally got them to come back out, then basically guess at another fix. Then another week before I got a bill, not an estimate a bill when they hadn't even come out to "fix" the next thing they said they would try. I would avoid this place like the plague.

Dryer Repair or Replacement Cost Decision

A dryer problem does not always mean the appliance is finished. Long drying times, weak heat, early shutoff, noise, or overheating can come from one repairable issue. But when the same problem returns or several symptoms appear together, replacement may start to make more sense.

For San Jose and Bay Area customers, the best cost decision depends on the dryer type, age, condition, repair history, airflow, heat source, and how often the appliance is used.

Start With the Drying Behavior

The first clue is how the dryer behaves during a normal cycle.

If the drum turns and clothes get warm but stay damp, the issue may be airflow-related. If clothes remain cold and wet, the dryer may not be producing heat. If the dryer gets too hot, shuts off early, or smells like burning, the problem should be checked before another cycle is run.

When Dryer Repair Usually Makes Sense

Dryer repair is often the better choice when the appliance has one clear problem and is otherwise in good condition.

Repair May Be Practical When the Dryer

  • runs but does not heat;
  • takes too long to dry;
  • stops before the cycle ends;
  • makes a new noise;
  • has a broken belt or drum movement issue;
  • shows a sensor-dry problem;
  • has an airflow or thermostat-related issue;
  • starts normally but performs worse than before.

Many dryer problems are tied to heating components, airflow restrictions, belts, rollers, sensors, thermostats, switches, igniters, or controls. If the dryer has been reliable until now and parts are available, repair often deserves consideration.

When Replacement Becomes More Reasonable

Dryer replacement becomes more realistic when the dryer has repeated failures, major motor problems, severe drum wear, discontinued parts, or repair costs close to the price of a replacement unit.

Replacement May Be Smarter If the Dryer Has

  • recurring overheating;
  • repeated heating failure;
  • loud drum or bearing noise;
  • several problems at once;
  • damaged controls;
  • parts that are no longer available;
  • a history of frequent service needs.

Replacement may also make sense if the dryer no longer fits the household or property. A small dryer in a high-use home, rental unit, salon, gym, or staff laundry area may keep struggling even after a single repair.

Cost Factors That Affect the Decision

Dryer repair cost depends on the brand, model, fuel type, part cost, labor access, and whether the issue involves heat, airflow, motor movement, sensors, wiring, or gas ignition.

Many dryer repairs may fall around $350–$600, depending on the problem and parts required. Diagnostic visits commonly start around $79–$99, depending on the service situation.

Replacement cost can include more than the dryer price. Delivery, installation, haul-away, vent connection, gas or electric setup, stacking kits, space fit, and matching washer design can all affect the real total.

Gas vs Electric Dryers

Gas and electric dryers can show similar symptoms but require different service logic.

Gas Dryer Repair Considerations

A gas dryer that does not heat may involve ignition, flame behavior, gas valve operation, sensors, or safety controls. If a strong gas smell does not fade, stop using the dryer, ventilate the area, avoid open flames, and contact the proper gas emergency service before appliance repair.

Electric Dryer Repair Considerations

An electric dryer that does not heat may involve a heating element, thermostat, relay, wiring, sensor, or control issue. If the dryer overheats, smells like burning, or becomes unusually hot, stop using it until the issue is checked.

Airflow Can Change the Whole Cost Picture

Airflow is one of the most important dryer repair factors. Poor airflow can make clothes dry slowly, cause overheating, trigger early shutoff, and stress internal components.

A dryer that heats but does not dry well may not need a major heat repair. The issue may involve vent restriction, lint buildup, blower performance, or exhaust flow. Ignoring airflow problems can make a repair more expensive over time because the dryer keeps working under stress.

A clean lint screen is helpful, but it does not guarantee the full vent path is clear.

San Jose and Bay Area Use Cases

In a home, dryer failure can disrupt laundry for the week. In apartments, rental properties, gyms, salons, small offices, and light commercial laundry spaces, a dryer issue can affect tenants, staff, or daily operations.

High-use dryers may wear faster than machines used only a few times per week. If the dryer runs often and keeps failing, replacement may become more practical. If the problem is isolated and the machine still fits the space well, repair may be the smarter path.

Best Cost Decision

Dryer repair is usually worth considering when the issue is specific, parts are available, and the appliance has been dependable. Dryer replacement becomes more reasonable when failures repeat, parts are unavailable, the dryer overheats often, or multiple systems are worn.

For San Jose and Bay Area customers, the best decision starts with diagnosis. Once the real cause is clear, it becomes easier to compare repair cost, replacement cost, safety risk, and long-term reliability.
